In Loving Memory of Charles Ray Autrey
Charles Ray Autrey was born on February 20, 1946, in Nichburg, AL, and peacefully passed away on May 6th, 2024, at 78. He was the cherished son of Lydia Stallworth Autrey and Lonzie L. Autrey.
Charles's journey began on the family land in Nichburg, where he shared his childhood with his beloved siblings. He was known as the family's baby, and because of his struggles with asthma, he found solace indoors while his siblings tended to the land. He attended Nichburg Junior High School and attended High School at Connecuh County Training School (CCTS) in Evergreen, AL. Charles graduated in 1964. After high school, he attended Alabama A&M College in Normal, AL, for one year, majoring in Electronics, where he proudly pledged Kappa Alpha Psi, and was a self-proclaimed Kappa Man.
