Charles Herbert Green

Charles Herbert (Bunny) Green was born December 14, 1951, at St. Mary's Hospital, Cairo, IL to Frank and Cardelia Green. He was the youngest of their six children. Charles was educated in Cairo public schools and successfully graduated from Cairo High School in 1970.
In 1970, Charles' love of music led him to become one of the original members of the region's legendary singing group, the Soul Phonics. He was always willing to use his vocal cords to bring joy. So much so, that it wasn't unheard of him to crack a joke, just to ease those around him. Charles often expressed his love for God and was also willing to use his voice to sing in the church choir.
Charles valued both education and hard work equally. After working through high school at Burkart in Cairo, IL, he shortly found his career path with Illinois Department of Corrections where he served as a counselor, later being promoted to captain and retired as a state employee with proximity 20 years of service.
