Mary Huitt Carter, 74, of Karnak, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, July 14, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.Mary was born Nov. 2, 1949, in Cairo. She was a 1967 graduate of Egyptian High School. Mary was very involved in FHA (Future Homemakers of America) and the March of Dimes. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Karnak. Mary was a lifelong educator, having retired after 38 years of teaching from the Century Unit District 100 School near Ullin, Illinois. Mary loved to cook and be a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.She is survived by her husband, Danny Carter; son, Jonathan Carter (Melissa) of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Sarah Carter of Karnak; stepson, Robbie Carter of Dayton, Ohio; stepdaughter, Julie Brooks of Dayton, Ohio; one sister, Rebecca Jones of Wingo, Kentucky; two brothers, Richie Taylor and Kevin Taylor, both of Paducah, Kentucky; and grandchildren, Kennedy Pearl, Khloe Pearl and Liam
