Garland Benjamin Gilliam was born on December 24, 1944, to Garland and Mahala Gilliam in Marianna, Arkansas. Garland was known to everyone as G. B. Gilliam.
He departed this life on July 11, 2024, at home surrounded by loving siblings.
Garland accepted Christ at an early age. G.B was a caring and loving person, he believed in taking care of his family, and enjoyed all his family greatly.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his former wife Bertha Gilliam; two sons: Fredrick Ryan Gilliam of Merrillville, Indiana, and Donnie Gilliam of Minneapolis, Minnesota; six grandchildren: Tiffany, Herald, CeCe, Gregory, Alala, all of Detroit, Michigan and Brayden of Merrillville, Indiana; two great grandchildren; three sisters: Gloria Taylor, Dianna Carter, both of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Georgia(Preston) Barrow of Chicago, Illinois; one brother: Elijah Gilliam of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
