Rev. Bobbie Garrett, 69, passed away on July 17, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois; the son of Rosalie Garrett and King Booker, whom both proceeded him in death. Bobbie spent his formative years in the same city that he loved throughout his entire life, Cairo, Illinois. He was raised and cared for by his loving grandparents, Rev. Tecumseh and Susie B. Garrett, whom both also proceeded him in death. Bobbie had a very special connection to his family and friends in Cairo, long after he moved to Chicago. He loved the big city lights, but his heart was always with the small city of Cairo.
Bobbie graduated from Cairo High School and furthered his education at Shawnee Community College. Bobbie dedicated many years of service as a USPS Mailroom Clerk, a role he performed with diligence and pride. Outside of work, he was a shining presence, known for his charismatic and joyful spirit.
