Debra Ann Meeks-Barber, 62, transitioned peacefully on Wednesday, February 4, 2025 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
Debra was born in Cairo, IL on July 1, 1962 to the union of Ernestine Fowler and Paul Meeks.
Debra was a loving mother, daughter, sister and devoted wife. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Debra is preceded in death by her father, Paul Meeks.
Debra leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Charles Medger Barber; mother, Ernestine Meeks of Cairo, Illinois two sons, Brandon Meeks and Byron Meeks, of Cairo, Illinois; one stepdaughter, Chaunte' Barber of Mound City, Illinois; four bonus children, Denese Oats, Ebony Oats of Arlington, Texas, Van Wallace, and D.J. Oats ; three sisters, Pauline Meeks, Recynthia Meeks, of Cairo, Illinois, Carol Meeks of Jacksonville, Illinois; two brothers, Shawn Meeks of Springfield, Illinois, Darrell Meeks of Kentucky; two sisters-in-law, Jolynn (Leon) Barber of Halls, Tennessee, Dr. Michelle (Allerick)
