Born in 1930 in Dell, Arkansas, to the Union of the late Rev. Tecumseh Garrett and Susie Bell Garrett, peacefully yielded up her spirit on February 21, 2025 surrounded by her children.
She was preceded in death by her husband: John Matthews, Jr.; her Sons: George Ware, Victor Ware, Gabriel Ware, Joseph Ware, John Paul Matthews and Nathaniel Matthews; Her Daughters: Maxine Ware, Gloria Ware-Whitfield; Two Brothers: Early B Garrett, Charles Garrett; One Sister: Rosilee Garrett; One granddaughter, Charisse Davis and One Grandson, Carlandus Ware.
She loved reading, walking, cooking, talking about the Bible and listening to music.
She was a faithful mother and member of the Seventh Day Assembly until her health failed her.
